Orrell St James to host North West Men's League Cup Finals Day this weekend

Orrell St James to host North West Men's League Cup Finals Day this weekend

The North West Men’s League (NWML) Cup Finals will take place at Orrell St James this Saturday (13 July) with three titles up for grabs.

First up is the NWML Shield which will see Folly Lane A take on Haydock Warriors (KO 11am). Haydock made a triumphant return to Division Four following a short hiatus and booked their place on Saturday with impressive wins against Woolston Rovers A, Culcheth Eagles and Haresfinch A. Folly Lane have also enjoyed a prefect run to the Final, including a dominant 48-26 victory against Liverpool Lizards in the semi-finals.

Bank Quay Bulls lifted the NWML Trophy last year after a 22-16 win over Higginshaw and will defend their title against Rochdale Mayfield A (KO 1pm). Rochdale have impressed throughout this season having defeated Wigan St Judes before their 52-20 triumph over Roose Pioneers in the last round.

The day’s action will conclude with the NWML Cup which will feature Orrell St James and Haresfinch (KO 3pm). The Wigan based side defeated Folly Lane, Ashton Bears and Westhoughton Lions on their road to the Final and will be hoping home advantage gets them over the line on Saturday. However, Haresfinch have already beaten their opponents 30-36 in the league this season so will go into the fixture feeling confident.
