Inclusion & Diversity
Rugby League for all
The RFL is committed to ensuring that Rugby League is an inclusive sport, including ensuring we remove any barriers to involvement with the sport. We have a proud history that supports this.
Through our values, we are already committed to promoting diversity – supporting all communities and differences in ethnicity, religion, disability, gender and sexual orientation. And together with our partners, through the Tackle It action plan, we will extend Rugby League’s reach and appeal, diversify its talent pool, improve its culture and actively deal with discrimination.
The Tackle It plan has been informed by players, coaches, volunteers, administrators, and a number of external partners who have generously given their time and expertise and shared their lived experiences. It is a plan by the sport, for the sport, with organisations and individuals at all levels of the game responsible collectively for its implementation.
Rugby League’s progress towards becoming a truly inclusive sport will be overseen by the RFL’s Inclusion Board, whose members are drawn from a wide range of backgrounds. They are all enthusiastic champions of diversity, inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination campaigning.
By becoming more diverse and standing firm against discrimination, Rugby League will be stronger sport – one that is truly representative of all its communities.
