The RFL and Community Integrated Care announce Ambassadors for ‘On The Same Team’ initiative

The RFL and Community Integrated Care are thrilled to announce the appointment of four new ambassadors following the successful launch of our 'On The Same Team' initiative earlier this year.

'On The Same Team' provides engaging and impactful education aimed at helping young people understand the influence of their words and actions on others. The program emphasises the importance of unity and mutual respect, demonstrating how we all thrive when we’re on the same team and ultimately will help tackle bullying.

The campaign leverages the powerful stories of Rugby League role models and players from the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League to reinforce its key messages. These four Rugby League stars will serve as proud advocates, helping to raise awareness about the damaging effects of stereotyping and bullying. Their involvement will be instrumental in fostering a more inclusive and understanding community.

Director of Participation and Development Marc Lovering said: “We are delighted to introduce our proud ambassadors in partnership with Community Integrated Care and the On The Same Team campaign.

Rugby League is a sport that powerfully represents teamwork and inclusion. Every school and club that delivers this programme will gain so much, giving their young people exciting learning experiences and lessons that they will carry for life. In addition to our ambassadors, that will undoubtedly inspire the change needed."

John Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Communities at Community Integrated Care, said: “Our relationship with the RFL has changed countless lives and transformed the opportunities that exist for many disabled people in our communities. The introduction of these four new ambassadors will only help progress the existing, positive impact that we have developed through On The Same Team."

We look forward to seeing the fantastic work our ambassadors will do.
