Warrington Wolves crowned 2024 Premier Touch Rugby League Champions

Warrington Wolves have been crowned the 2024 Premier Touch Rugby League (PTRL) Champions after a dominant day of results at this year’s Finals Day which was hosted at Robin Park Arena on Sunday (25 August).

The Wolves won all three of their games to confirm their place as 2024 PTRL Cup Champions with Bradford Bulls seeing their fortunes drastically change from the Qualifying Event in Hull to claim the spoils in the Trophy competition.

Leigh Leopards qualified for the PTRL Cup competition in their debut season, however the Wolves and Warriors were too strong on this occasion including a dominant performance Wigan in the Semi-Final (28-0).

Whilst Warrington were prolific throughout, there were also standout fixtures in both Hull derbies with the Robins avenging their 24-6 defeat to FC in the group stages with a 18-10 win during their semi-final replay.

Wigan Warriors fell to a 56-12 loss against Warrington in the group stage but had stepped their performance up when they reached the Final - that game was a much closer affair in which Warrington eventually triumphed 26-12.

Warrington Wolves Touch Team Manager, Mark Isherwood, said:

“Following up from a fantastic qualifying event, Finals Day did not disappoint. Our thanks must go the RFL and Wigan Warriors for hosting a brilliant event and providing the players with the best Touch Rugby League experience possible, something we hope more clubs will want to become a part of in the coming years! We can’t wait for Premier Touch Rugby League in 2025.”
