Masters Rugby League is pleased to confirm squad selections for the England Lionhearts squad ahead of the Tri-Nations tournament taking place later this year.

South Regional Representative, Adie Smith, was appointed Head Coach alongside Ian McAllister as Team Manager earlier this year. Adie selected a squad that includes a range of coloured shorts from a variety of clubs which will provide a positive and inclusive matchday experience for all England Masters Lionhearts players.

The selection period began at the Season Launch and concluded at the National Festival last Saturday (7 September), with players eligible via club nominations and their attendances at 2024 Masters Festivals.

Team Manager, Ian McAllister, will now take on the organisation and co-ordination of the Masters international calendar and fixtures/festivals with all eligible nations subject to RFL approval.

Head Coach, Adie Smith, said:

“It’s been another eventful season which has included the introduction of new tackle height rules, a regulated ‘off season’, new clubs formed and some big names supporting our cause. We had London Broncos winger Illies Macani visit the South Festival, Anna Davies attending the National Festival in Blackpool and even Sam Tomkins put on a Masters Shirt for a run out, before returning to Catalan Dragons!

“None of this is possible without the tenacity and spirit shown by those who turn up to their Community Clubs and promote Masters Rugby League week in week out - you are the Spirit of Masters and I thank you all.”
