England Women will kick-off an international double header of Rugby League as they host Wales at AMT Headingley Stadium on Saturday (2 November, KO 12pm).
Saturday’s meeting will be the fourth time in as many years that England have faced Wales, with the home side reigning victorious in all previous meetings.
In 2022, the two sides met during the mid-season in South Wales with England claiming the spoils by a margin of 32-6. Fran Goldthorp scored a brace, meanwhile Hollie-Mae Dodd, Shona Hoyle, Amy Hardcastle and Tara Jones were all on the scoresheet.
Last Autumn the two nations clashed at AMT Headingley - England led 20-0 at half-time and ran in 11 tries in total with Amy Hardcastle, Shona Hoyle, Keara Bennett, Lacey Owen, Tamzin Renouf, Georgia Roche and Emily Rudge all on the scoresheet.
The contest will be England’s first since the mid-season international victory over France and the last game before their historic trip to Las Vegas to face Australia.
Head Coach Stuart Barrow named his squad earlier today with three debutants in Saturday’s squad – Amelia Brown (Huddersfield Giants), Erin Stott (St Helens) and Izzy Northrop (Leeds Rhinos) are all in line to pull on an England jersey for the first time.
Saturday will be the first fixture for Wales since they successfully qualified for a debut World Cup by defeating Netherlands in June, with the squad showing six changes from the historic 48-6 success.
Wales head coach Tom Brindle has named a 19-strong squad for this weekend’s clash at Headingley (kick-off 12pm) with possible debuts for St Helens’ Dani McGifford and Cardiff Demons’ Olivia Williams.
Carys Marsh returns to the squad having missed the successful World Cup qualifying campaign through injury and there is also a recall for Emily Hughes, who last made an international appearance in October 2022.
Tickets for the ABK Beer International double-header in Leeds are available at rugby-league.com/tickets with prices starting from £25 Adults and £12.50 Under 16s.
