The date for the flagship event of Masters Rugby League, the Masters National Festival (Men & Women) has been confirmed for Saturday 6 September 2025 in Stanley Park, Blackpool.
But, first, the start of the new Masters season will see the Masters Season Launch Festivals (Men & Women) take place on Saturday 8 March.
There will also been a groundbreaking step in Masters Rugby League next year, as a series of inaugural Women’s Festivals are set to take place one festival a month between April and October.
Fixtures should be booked in and sanctioned around the festival dates, which are TBC.
The Men’s 2025 Masters Festivals will see the inclusion of the traditional regional festivals, regional mini festivals and nines festivals to support the development of flexible playing opportunities.
Yorkshire – One regional festival & two mini-festivals (no nines confirmed to date)
South – One regional festival & one nines festivals (no mini-festivals confirmed to date)
Lancashire – One regional festival, one mini-festival & one nine’s festival
Cumbria – One regional festival
North-East – One regional festival
The announcements of dates and host clubs will be made in December.
Masters Clubs Team Managers will be sent a follow-up email in December with the relevant Fixtures Form.
This is a gentle reminder that any region hosting a regional festival will not have any Masters Clubs’ fixtures within that region sanctioned, and no Masters Rugby League fixtures will be sanctioned by the Masters Management Group until Wednesday 29 January.
England Lionhearts player selection policy will be updated in line with the creation of additional festivals.
And there is international action happening within the Masters game this week, as the 2024 International Tri-Nations Festival takes place this Friday (16 November) and will see teams from England and Wales renew their friendly rivalry at The New Forge Sports Centre, Belfast.
This year's Festival is being held in Ireland for the first time, following the 2021 Festival in Leigh East and 2022 Festival in York - see this year's plan below...
