England star and St Helens Women’s back-rower Paige Travis will be taking on a new challenge in 2025 with NRLW’s Parramatta Eels.
The Rochdale native has earned international honours with England including playing at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup.
Travis has eight caps to her name so far - the latest came in a dominant 82-0 victory over Wales at the start of November in which she also scored a try.
Travis first joined St Helens Women after being spotted with Littleborough Rugby Union ahead of the 2019 season and made her debut in that campaign.
In 2021, Travis was part of the team that secured a historic treble of trophies winning the Betfred Women’s Super League, the BWSL League Leaders’ Shield, and the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup.
She also played her role in the club's history-making with Saints Women lifting the Challenge Cup four times in a row between 2021 and 2024; including the first Women’s Challenge Cup Final to be played at Wembley Stadium in 2023.
Her final season was a memorable one with the Red V winning the 2024 Women’s Challenge Cup once again at Wembley, and earning the Women’s League Leaders’ Shield but falling just short of another historic treble with a heartbreaking loss in the Grand Final.
In all, Travis played 65 times for St Helens, scoring 35 tries for a total of 140 points and will now prepare for an exciting journey Down Under.
Reflecting on her time with the Saints, Travis thanked the Club and said:
“I have really enjoyed my time at Saints and I want to thank everyone that I've met along my journey. My six years at this incredible club has taught me a lot about myself, both on and off the field. I love the girls and the staff, they have become part of my family - but it’s time for me to push myself and take this next step in my career.
"Thank you also to all the fans who have supported me at Saints, and the young girls with my name on their shirt, or who have worn my hairstyle for their games! I could not be prouder to have been a part of this amazing club."
On joining the Eels, Travis also commented:
“I am thrilled to be joining the Parramatta Eels and to challenge myself in the NRLW.
“I’ve watched a lot of the NRLW games, and the Eels have really impressed me as a team who play with passion and for each other.
“I look forward to meeting the girls and bringing my experience to the squad next year."
Travis will be available for national selection in England's historic match against Australia Jillaroos in Las Vegas in March, before joining the Parramatta Eels NRLW squad in mid-2025.
