The National Conference League held its Annual General Meeting last Monday, bringing significant leadership changes and officially a new club to the competition.
Trevor Hunt has stepped down from his previous role as chair and been appointed as the new president of the league, while Mike Denning officially became the new chairman of the league. Tony Johnson will take on the position of vice chair.
Additionally, long-serving member Joe Fitzsimmons is to receive a life membership in recognition of his dedication to the league.
"I'm honoured to be asked to stand as chairman," Mike Denning said, "I feel as if I've only been around for five minutes but I know it's a lot longer than that, and there is some big shoes to fill with Trevor stepping up as president, but I'm grateful to the committee for the nomination and grateful to the clubs for voting me in."
The NCL also introduced three new club representatives: Robbie Thompson (Ellenborough Rangers), Joe McCormack (Siddal), and Clive Senior (Dewsbury Celtic), further strengthening the league’s leadership and representation.
In club developments, Keighley Albion were officially welcomed as a new member of the league, and Featherstone Lions have been re-elected, securing their place for another season.
The NCL looks forward to a promising and competitive season ahead with fixtures starting on the 8th March.
