The draw for the semi-finals of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup was made this afternoon live on BBC Radio Manchester ahead of Oldham’s Betfred Championship fixture against Featherstone Rovers.
Oldham are just 80 minutes away from a first Wembley appearance for the town’s Rugby League club and will face Featherstone at home on the weekend of May 17/18. Rovers are the only one of the 2025 Semi Finalists to have won the competition, with victory over York at Wembley in the 2021 Final but also lost to Leigh in the 2022 Final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
York Knights will host Bradford Bulls in the second of this year’s semi-finals with Mark Applegarth’s side looking to make amends for that 2021 Final defeat by Featherstone three years ago. The Bulls however will be aiming for a first appearance in the Final of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup, which would mean their first trip to Wembley since consecutive Challenge Cup Final defeats in 1996 and 1997.
The Semi Finals will be played on the weekend of May 17-18, with the sixth AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final at Wembley three weeks later, on Saturday June 7.
