Rearrangements
Yorkshire Juniors Rearrangements for all age groups
Rules
We advise clubs to contact the opposition and try to rearrange a date before submitting a postponement.
When registering to the League your team should be available to play on default day for the duration of the Season, if they cannot fulfil this obligation then we will look at an ad-hoc division of teams who play as and when they can.
25.1 Teams may apply to League Management to postpone a game within the season under exceptional circumstances. This must be done at the start of the season or as soon as is reasonably possible.
To clarify, exceptional circumstances include, but are not limited to – School Trips, Volunteer/Coach Wedding.
25.2 Under 12s to Under 18s – Teams wishing to rearrange a fixture must make contact with the opposition and fixture secretary a minimum of 10 days prior to the game. The reason for the rearrangement must be given to the fixture secretary with as much detail as possible.
25.2.1 If the opposition are happy to rearrange, and the fixture is either to be played within 72 of the original date OR the fixture secretary can arrange a suitable date then permission will be granted.
25.2.2 If the fixture secretary states that permission is not granted, then teams have 24 hours from that time to decide whether to concede the game or play 11-a-side. This way the teams can still agree kick off times and request referees by the deadline.
25.2.3 Teams cannot request rearrangements within the last 4 weeks of the season, as quite often this means there a no more available dates to add a fixture to.
25.2.4 Rearrangements to move a cup game than 72 hours from the given date will not be permitted, please check the dates when deciding to enter a team into cup competitions.
25.3 Under 6s to Under 11s – Teams may request to not play on a particular weekend and submit a request to the fixture secretary, with a specific reason. This must be no later than 8pm Tuesday. If permission is granted the fixture secretary will reschedule the game at a later date. The fixture secretary will then try and find a game for the opposition, at younger age groups this may mean 3 teams at one venue. The fixture secretaries will monitor this. Any teams found to be cancelling away games, or persistently against the same team will be removed from scheduled fixtures altogether.
25.4 Postponed games due to weather, or other circumstances out of either team’s control will be rescheduled by the fixture secretary. This may include moving scheduled fixtures for BARLA/YJYARL cup games affected by weather.
