Batley Bulldogs’ Fox’s Biscuits Stadium plays host this Saturday (20 July) to the Yorkshire Men’s League’s (YML) Finals Day, when eight clubs will do battle for four YML trophies.
First up is the NCL Alliance Cup Final between Heworth and West Bowling (KO 11am). Heworth narrowly defeated Eastmoor Dragons 24-22 in the semi-finals to earn their place, while West Bowling enjoyed a slightly more comfortable 41-24 win over West Hull.
At 1pm it’s the Shield Final between York St John’s Barbarians and Oulton Raiders. Both teams notched a half century of points at the semi-finals stage, the Barbarians defeating Garforth Tigers 50-12 and the Raiders winning by the same margin, 56-18, against Sherburn Bears.
The YML Trophy (KO 3pm) sees Bramley Buffaloes take on Illingworth. Neither side enjoyed an easy route to the final, the Buffaloes battling past Moldgreen 26-22 and Illingworth defeating Dodworth Miners 34-24.
The last game of the day is the YML Cup Final (KO 5pm), between Doncaster Toll Bar and Mirfield, who booked their place with a resounding 38-12 win over Bradford’s Dudley Hill. Toll Bar’s semi-final win was even more convincing as they hammered Ossett Trinity Tigers 44-12.
