Yorkshire Men’s League Finals Day taking place this Saturday

Yorkshire Men’s League Finals Day taking place this Saturday

This Saturday (14 September) will see an array of silverware up for grabs when the Yorkshire Men’s League Finals take place at The Millennium Stadium in Featherstone.

Four titles will be up for grabs including the Premier Division Final (KO 5pm) which will be contested by Stanley Rangers and King Cross Park. Stanley will be looking to add to the Division 1 title they won in 2023 and will be confident following their top place finished at the end of the regular season. Their opposition finished three points behind them and defeated Doncaster Toll Bar 36-14 in the semi-finals.

Before that blockbuster fixture, the day will begin with Bramley Buffaloes taking on Dodworth Miners in the Division 3 Final (KO 11am). Both sides finished the regular season in first and second place respectively, but Bramley took the spoils during their head-to-heads with the West Yorkshire side beating Dodworth both home (24-20) and away (12-31).

Next up will see the Division 2 Final between Moldgreen and Seacroft Sharks (KO 1pm) – the Sharks lifted the 2023 Division 3 title last year and could go one step further on Saturday. They overcame a determined Brighouse Rangers side 18-14 in the semi-finals with Moldgreen defeating Castleford Panthers 14-4.

This year’s Division 1 Final will feature Mirfield ARLFC and Siddal Academy (KO 3pm) – another fixture which will see first take on second for the right to lift this year’s trophy. Both teams have had an impressive season, but Mirfield have beaten Siddal twice in the league this year. The Kirklees side have the chance to win two pieces of silverware in 2024 as they will also compete for the YML Cup on Saturday 21 September against Doncaster Toll Bar.

Saturday’s event will begin at 11am with entrance just £5 for adults and £3 for concessions (under 16s and over 60s), payment is cash only.
