Registration is now open for the England Universities Rugby League Regional Trials, with all players having ambitions to play for England in 2025 invited to register.
Last year England managed a clean sweep, winning a second consecutive RFL President’s Cup for the first time, with victories over GB Police, GB Teachers and UK Armed Forces before victory in a two-match series with Wales Students.
This year will see England again compete in the RFL President’s Cup and the Student Rugby League Four Nations which will take place at the end of June 2024.
The pathway to England starts with selection for the region in which a student is studying, with a round of inter-regional games. All three games will take place at Loughborough University on Saturday 30 November 2024 - the fixtures are yet to be confirmed, but will kick off at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
Following the inter-regional games, players are selected for their Origin side with Midlands, South East and South West aligning to the South, and North West, North East and Yorkshire aligning to the North. The University Origin Match takes place on Sunday 2 February, also at Loughborough University.
Trials for the regional sides will take place during November, with exact details and details of each region’s coaching staff to be announced shortly.
All students who wish to trial need to register their interest by no later than Friday 8 November. To register your interest please do so at https://forms.office.com/e/dsJqVXeQin.
