Following England’s 34-16 victory against Samoa, we take a look at some of the stat standouts (All stats provided by Opta) from the deciding Test in Leeds.
England ran in six tries against their opponents at AMT Headingley Stadium on Sunday - with five different try scorers - a carbon copy of their performance in Wigan a week earlier.
Shaun Wane’s side enjoyed 57% of the total possession with a 90% completion rate, and although there was little to separate the two sides in game, England came out on top with 248 more metres and 32 more runs, as well as 59 less tackles made.
Herbie Farnworth starred in Test 2, earning Player of the Match for his exceptional efforts. The 24-year-old centre ran the most metres (177) for a second successive week and came up with two tries, one try assist and 13 tackle busts as England made it two from two in this year’s historic Test series.
Ten England players surpassed 100 metres, including Junior Nsemba (122) and Liam Marshall (124) on their international debuts.
Nsemba made the most tackles of any England player (24) in a remarkable 66-minute stint, while Marshall scored a trademark try on debut.
Luke Thompson also enjoyed an extremely strong performance on his return to action – with 153 metres, 18 runs and 21 tackles.
General Harry Smith provided two try assists on Saturday afternoon, with captain George Williams assisting one.
Victor Radley then impressively made 105 metres and 18 tackles in just 40 minutes.
On the opposite side, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Jarome Luai topped the stats for Samoa with 26 runs each and 193 and 138 metres respectively.
