England Universities are seeking an Assistant Coach to join the programme for the 2024 season.
England Universities play in the RFL’s President’s Cup against GB Teachers, GB Police and UK Armed Forces and compete in the Student Four Nations which this year takes place in England from Saturday 29 June to Sunday 7 July.
We are looking for a coach who holds a current RFL coaching licence. The coach should have a good understanding of the University Rugby League, Community Game and Professional Game competitions and structures, and current or previous experience in coaching adults aged 19 to 25 is essential.
The role of the assistant coach is to support the Head Coach to effectively and efficiently develop the team and individual athletes and to help create a positive, responsive and productive environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Support planning and delivery of training sessions.
- Attend matches & training (mixture of weekends and midweek)
- Help create and maintain England Community Lions high standards
- Regularly review performance and progress
- Provide regular monitoring and evaluation information
- Assist on selection
Person specification:
- RFL coaching licence
- Current First Aid Certificate (preferable)
- UK driving licence and access to personal transport (essential)
- Relevant coaching experience
Salary: Volunteer
Term: Initially to the end of the 2024 campaign
Location: Various locations predominantly in the North of England
