The Rugby Football League has gone to tender for a sports medical management system – a Medical App – to support clinicians in record-keeping and injury management within the sport.
Submissions have been invited to deliver the App by the second quarter of 2025, to allow its introduction for the 2026 season – with a deadline of November 15.
Dr Dane Vishnubula, the RFL’s Chief Medical Officer, said:
“Rugby League has long been fortunate to receive such high-quality medical support which is clearly essential for a high-impact collision sport – and we believe the introduction of a bespoke Medical App would be an invaluable resource for those medical professionals, and therefore for the sport as a whole.
“It would deliver improved medico-legal governance for England Rugby League and our clubs, increasing and simplifying the capture of injury audit data, providing a personalised experience for medical staff, and allowing a more efficient transfer of medical records between clubs, and storage of those records across the sport.”
